What DoorDash and Uber Eats Charge Restaurants in 2026
DoorDash charges restaurants 15%, 25% or 30% of each delivery order, depending on the plan, and 6% of each pickup order. Uber Eats charges 20%, 25% or 30% on delivery and 7% on pickup, or 10% if you don't validate your in-store prices. Below are both price lists as of September 2026, what the higher plans add, and what those rates come to over a year.

| DoorDash Plus | 25% | 6% | DashPass and a wider delivery area |
| DoorDash Premier | 30% | 6% | Sponsored Listings, a $200 photo credit and a Growth Guarantee |

| Uber Eats Plus | 25%, or 30% on Uber One member orders | 7% or 10% | Uber One and increased discoverability |

DoorDash: Basic, Plus and Premier
DoorDash's Marketplace has three plans. Basic takes 15% of each delivery order, Plus takes 25% and Premier takes 30%. Pickup is 6% on all three. Each plan opens with a 0% intro rate: 7 days on Basic, and 30 days on Plus and Premier. DoorDash says there are no activation, subscription, software or cancellation fees.
Each step up buys more reach. Plus adds DashPass, which DoorDash calls its top-performing marketing program, and an expanded delivery area. Premier adds Sponsored Listings at no extra cost, a $200 credit toward food, styling or setup for your menu photos, and a Growth Guarantee: if you get fewer than 20 orders in a month during your first six months, DoorDash refunds that month's delivery commission, as long as you cancel fewer than 5 orders that month and stay open on DoorDash for 90% of your set store hours.
DoorDash says the commission pays for advertising and marketing, Dasher pay and insurance, support for guests, merchants and Dashers, its technology, and credit card processing. There is no separate processing fee on orders placed in the DoorDash app or on its website.
Uber Eats: Lite, Plus and Premium
Uber Eats calls its commission a Marketplace Fee. Lite is 20%, Plus is 25% and Premium is 30%. On Plus, orders from Uber One members are charged 30%. Premium includes Uber One at no extra cost, and Lite stores can't take part in Uber One at all. Plus and Premium start with a 0% intro rate for 30 days.
Lite used to cost less. Restaurant Dive reported on March 10, 2026 that Uber raised Lite from 15% to 20% and pickup from 6% to 7%. Uber's statement said its fees had "remained stable over many years".
Pickup is 7% with validated in-store pricing, which means sending Uber proof that your app pickup prices match your in-store prices. Without it, pickup is 10%.
The plans also differ in how easily guests find you. Uber lists increased discoverability for Plus and Premium, and says a store's placement in the app is dynamic and depends on factors that include any paid advertising the store buys.
Pickup orders cost you too
On a pickup order the app sends no courier. The guest walks in, your staff hands over the bag, and you still pay 6% on DoorDash, or 7% on Uber Eats (10% without validated pricing). On a $30 order that is $1.80, $2.10 or $3.00.
Small per order, it adds up. Forty pickup orders a week at $30 is $1,200 a week in sales. At 6%, that is $72 a week, or $3,744 a year, for orders your own counter handled from start to finish.
Pickup guests are also the easiest to move, because they already know where you are. They can order the same food from your own site and collect it at the same counter.
What a year of commission looks like
Take a made-up restaurant that gets 50 delivery orders a week through an app, at a $30 average. That is $1,500 a week, or $78,000 a year in sales through the app. Here is what each rate takes out of it.
| Rate | Plans | Per $30 order | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15% | DoorDash Basic | $4.50 | $11,700 |
| 20% | Uber Eats Lite | $6.00 | $15,600 |
| 25% | DoorDash Plus, Uber Eats Plus | $7.50 | $19,500 |
| 30% | DoorDash Premier, Uber Eats Premium | $9.00 | $23,400 |
The table counts commission only. Promotions you fund and ads you buy inside the app are separate, and they come on top. To run your own order count, average ticket and rate, use the calculator on our home page.
Where the apps still earn their fee
The commission buys something real. The apps put you in front of people who have never heard of you, and they send the courier. For a new restaurant, or a guest who searches for "tacos" in the app rather than your name, that reach is hard to build on your own.
The math changes with repeat guests. Someone who orders from you every Friday already knows your name. Paying 25% or 30% to reach that person again is paying for a discovery that already happened.
So a sensible split is to keep the apps for new customers and give regulars an easy way to order from you directly. Guests are open to it: in a November 2024 NCR Voyix survey of US consumers, 58% said they prefer to order delivery through a restaurant's own app or website.
How to keep more of the same orders
Two changes do most of the work. The first is taking orders on your own site, where you pay a plan and a transaction fee instead of a marketplace commission. Our guide to commission-free online ordering covers what that costs and what to ask a provider. The second, if you want to keep delivery, is paying a courier per trip instead of a percentage of the food, which we walk through in delivery from your own website.
Common questions
Does DoorDash charge a commission on pickup orders?
Yes. Pickup orders placed through the DoorDash Marketplace are charged 6% on every plan.
Did Uber Eats raise its fees in 2026?
Yes. In March 2026 the Lite plan went from 15% to 20% on delivery, and pickup went from 6% to 7%, as Restaurant Dive reported.
Which plan is cheapest?
Per order, DoorDash Basic at 15%. The lower-rate plans also leave things out, such as DashPass, Uber One or the wider delivery area, so compare what each plan brings in as well as what it costs.
Is card processing included in the commission?
On DoorDash Marketplace orders, yes. DoorDash says card processing is part of what the commission covers, and there is no separate processing fee on orders placed in the DoorDash app or on DoorDash's own website. Orders through DoorDash's Online Ordering on your own site do carry a processing fee.
